Whether you're considering a career in herbalism or looking to support your family's health safely and naturally, this is a rare opportunity to get your feet wet (and your hands busy!) without the commitment of an extended program.
We'll spend two back-to-back days garbling and sorting herbs (and learning lots of fancy herb terms like "garbling"), making remedies like salves and syrups, and getting the apothecary ready for Spring, with lots of tea beaks, impromptu lessons, and ceremony along the way. We'll cover any number of topics, from food as medicine to safe methods of handling essential oils. You'll also learn about different styles of herbalism, from wise woman to Ayurvedic, as well as some of the different paths to becoming a community, clinical, or home herbalist. Bring a brown bag lunch, questions, and clothes you don't mind getting messy. You'll leave covered in dry herbs (and probably a potion or two!), smelling heavenly, and filled with more than enough tips and tricks to start stockpiling your own herbal medicine chest!
Please note: In order for us to enjoy a productive yet peaceful pace, space is limited to just 10 apprentices and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Unlike the more structured workshops or year-long programs, this Pop-up Apprenticeship is designed to let the learning flow organically, so bring your ideas, questions, and herbal wishes.... it's time to follow your dreams!
